It is with mixed emotions that we share with our friends and supporters that CAUSE Director of Programs, Aki Leung, will be relocating to Hong Kong next week for family reasons. We realize that her decision to transition is an important step for her. Nevertheless, we will miss the leadership, passion, and energy that Aki brought not only to our organization, but also to each of our programs. We know we are not alone in this sentiment.
Under Aki’s wing, CAUSE has seen tremendous growth and is well positioned to reach new heights. She oversaw the successful implementation of two new programs during her year and a half tenure and laid the important groundwork for existing programs to see even greater success. Our greatest joy came from watching Aki’s growth as a compassionate leader. Having provided guidance and mentorship to program participants, we have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that Aki has had on the future leaders of our community.
Because of the growth and direction that Aki provided during her time with CAUSE, many talented and civic-minded individuals have been inspired to become more involved with the organization. Many are eager to join our team’s efforts of empowering the next generation of Asian Pacific Americans to vote, participate, and lead. Aki has set a high bar for her successor to envision an even larger future for CAUSE. CAUSE is a stronger organization because of her.
As always, we are saddened to see a valued team member transitioning on from CAUSE. We are also happy to see one of our own pursuing their dreams. We are even more thrilled to know that Aki will continue working in the nonprofit sector as her heart has always been with advancing the needs of the community.
We would like to publicly recognize Aki for her dedication and contributions to CAUSE and wish her all the best.
