Los Angeles County Governance Reform Task Force

Following the passage of Measure G, CAUSE encouraged our communities to apply to serve on the new Los Angeles County Governance Reform Task Force (GRTF), which is being created to make recommendations on:

  • BOS Expansion (5 to 9)

  • Creation of new County Executive Official position

  • Budget Transparency

  • Ethics Commission and Charter Reform Review Commission

What’s Next?

While GRTF member selection concludes by May 30, 2025, Measure G will create additional leadership roles as reforms roll out:

  • By 2026:

    • Independent Ethics Commissioners

    • Ethics Compliance Officer

  • By 2028:

    • County Executive 

    • Director of Budget Management (appointed by County Executive)

    • County Legislative Analyst (appointed by Board of Supervisors)

  • By 2032:

    • 7 Board of Supervisor seats up for election

  • By 2034:

    • 4 Board of Supervisor seats up for election

    • Charter Review Commission
