Los Angeles City Neighborhood Councils

Neighborhood Councils are one of the most accessible ways to lead and advocate at the local level in Los Angeles and the closest form of government to the people. These elected advisory boards influence city decisions on housing, transportation, safety, and more—and help direct $32,000 annually in public funding toward local projects.

Anyone who lives, works, owns property, or has a significant connection to the neighborhood can run for a seat or vote—citizenship is not required.

Candidate sign-ups typically open a few months before the election.
